IF you’re pondering Pontevedra

“I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next.” – Gilda Radner

On Saturday, Hattie, Dennis and I all took off on the train to Pontevedra for our last day trip in Galicia. We started off the year in September with a day trip to A Coruña and it seemed fitting that we came full circle and did it again! I am so glad that we did, we had such a ball. We got to discover a new city, eat delicious Mexican food and chill out at a river beach for the day. Even though I know Pontevedra isn’t exactly a hub of tourism and not a lot of people are necessarily planning a trip there, I wanted to do a photo diary to mark the occasion for myself. I’m flying home to Ireland today and I don’t know when I’ll be back in Galicia – which makes me sad but it also excites me because I’m moving on to the next exciting chapter in my life and I know the road won’t be smooth but “life is about not knowing” and “having to change”.

I’ve had such a wonderful year in Galicia and I will definitely miss it, but I’m delighted I’ll have all of these posts to look back on. Now, to move out of my newly created comfort zone once again!

Anyway, here are some pictures of sunny Pontevedra:

We also got to hang out at the Pontevedra beach on the river Lerez.

We also reenacted the photo we took in September! (because that’s what makes us happy!!)

I’ve had such a great year with these two, we’ve had too many fun times to recount. Going to Pontevedra was the perfect way to finish off the year. Now for Hattie and I to roadtrip around Ireland together! Next stop, Dublin!

If you have any suggestions for what we should do while we’re in Dublin or anywhere in Ireland because we’re going to drive the width and breadth of it, please do let me know. I’m so excited to show a North American around however feel quite under qualified for the job!

You can find me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as always, and if you want to follow along on our roadtrip, you can on Snapchat (imperfectlyfree), I’ll be sure to capture as much of it as I can on there!

Winging it,

R x
